GenBI.

Talk to your warehouse. Plain language in, defensible SQL out, with lineage attached.

Text-to-SQL · Semantic layer · Lineage

What it does

GenBI lets non-engineers ask the data warehouse questions in their own words and get an answer they can trust — backed by the actual SQL that produced it and a lineage trail showing which tables, joins, and filters were touched. It is built for the gap between “the dashboard doesn’t have it” and “let me file a ticket with data engineering.”

How it works

GenBI sits on top of your warehouse with a hand-curated semantic layer — tables, measures, dimensions, and the constraints that bind them. Plain-language questions are decomposed against that layer, not directly against raw schemas, which keeps the SQL defensible and the joins correct. Every answer returns the query, the rows, and a lineage diagram. Where the question can’t be answered confidently, GenBI says so — it does not invent.

Deployment & governance

Connects to Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres, and the usual suspects. The semantic layer is version-controlled. Query history is logged with user, prompt, generated SQL, and result hash — auditable when an executive asks “where did that number come from?”
